Different Types of Makeup Brushes and Their Uses

All the brushes mentioned in the list of makeup brushes and uses are there in our product range. You can check out our makeup brush sets and beauty blenders here.

1. Full coverage face brush

The full-coverage face brush is also known as a stippling makeup brush. The rounded edge of the brush makes it easier to apply and blend foundation, powder,  blush, bronzer, and highlighters. This brush is also easier to use with both creamy and powdered makeup products.

2. Foundation brush

The name itself suggests its functioning. You use this brush to blend foundation evenly on your face. When you are planning to use this brush, first apply the dots of foundation on the face and then nicely work with the foundation brush to blend it evenly. Using this technique, you will get a flawless look with no visible harsh lines.

3. Blush brush

Blusher is a makeup product that should look natural on the face, and for that, you need the perfect blush brush. The blush brush looks the same as the full coverage brush but smaller in size (to fit on the cheeks). You will even see angled blush brushes on the internet for the precisive application of blush.

4. Angled bronzer brush

The bronzer brush comes in an angled shape only. Why? To help you get the perfect sunkissed and glowy look. Bronzer is a makeup product that can ruin your look if it isn’t properly buffed out or you have applied excessively. The bronzer brush is denser than blush or stippling brush, to give you the perfect blend on your temples, near the nose, cheekbones, and the finest jawline.

5. Fan brush

The name of the brush is behind its shape. It looks like a fan, hence fan brush. In other words, it is also known as a highlighter brush. Yes, you can apply the De’lanci New 6 Color highlighter palette with this brush and light up everyone’s world around you. Pick up a small amount of product and sweep the brush back and forth to apply a highlighter the right way.

6. Highlighter brush tapered

Again this one is a highlighter brush but with a tapered top. The use of this highlighter brush is the same as the one above. If you are not comfortable with a fan brush, you can use this tapered brush as well. It is designed for precision, hence the small bristles.

7. Eye blender brush

This is the most versatile brush among the entire range of eyeshadow brushes. You can apply La Catrina Eyeshadow Palette and blend both with this eyeshadow blender brush. It won’t let any harsh crease lines stay on your eyelids. Once you have applied the shades on the lids, blend them all together with this brush and look amazing.

8. Fluffy shading brush

The fluffy shading brush is used to apply the eyeshadow on the lids. It is not used for blending, but only for application. Use the flat side of the brush and apply or layer the shades on the lids, if necessary. So, you have to use this brush before the blender brush and after it as well to add a shimmery layer to your final look.

9. Small tapered blending brush

You can call this one the crease brush as well. The small tapered brush will help you get the perfect coloring on your crease. The tapered-ness of makes it easy for you to blend the shade well and give your overall makeup look amazing.

10. Eye shading brush

The eye shading brush is flat in shape and is used to apply De’Lanci’s 72 Color eyeshadow palette on the lids. You don’t have to use this brush for the blending purpose, but just to apply it on the eyelids. It is stiff and can pick the exact amount of eyeshadow shade needed. Tap off the excess and swipe on the eyelids.

11. Pencil brush

The pencil brush has a tiny tip and allows you to apply the makeup products that need precision. The small and defined tip helps you apply eyeshadow to lower lash line, eyeliner, kajal and you can even use it as a lip liner. So, some people also call it a lip liner brush.

12. Cream color brush

The most common name for the cream color brush is the concealer brush. Yes, you can use this brush to apply concealer and hide your flaws. The small and precise tip helps you apply the concealer in the right places and the right amount.

13. Lip brush

If you are using DE'LANCI 25 Color Matte Lipstick Palette instead of a set, you will need a lip brush. With the lip brush, you can apply lipstick evenly on your lips. We have seen many people neglect lip brushes, but they are really helpful when your motive is to get the defined pout.

14. Angled brow brush

The name of the brush defines two things: one, it is angled and another, it is for defining brows. When you are defining brows, the best brush is the one with an angled tip. The angle of the brush will help you go smoothly around the brows and define them perfectly.

15. Brow and lash brush

Don’t get confused, it is our beloved mascara wand. The wand that will add magic to your lashes and brows. After Harry Potter’s wand, mascara wand is all that I want. The mascara wand or brow and lash brush will help you get the voluminous lashes and darkened eyebrows.

16. Small angled brush

This one is the extra staple to your makeup toolbox. If you are looking to create a thin eyeliner, or apply thinner eyeshadow to the lash line, go for the small angled brush. It is the baby sister of the pencil brush.
